'Stress management can improve sex life'
Published: 21/08/2008

Higher stress levels mean couples have less sex, according to one doctor, who adds that better management of worries can improve action in the bedroom.

The Stress and the City Survey by Relora shows that nearly two-thirds say they are not having enough sex, citing concerns over finances as work among the reasons.

"Sex is more in the brain than below the belt," comments Dr Peter Lambrou of Scripps Memorial Hospital in California.

"Whatever couples can do to better manage their stress will help improve both the frequency and satisfaction of their sex lives."

Relaxation exercises such as yoga and meditation and supplements can help couples turn up the heat in the bedroom, he adds.

Doing a sexy striptease is one way to get into the mood, Good To Know states.

The website advises that adventurous couples set out some rules, such as not letting the man touch you as you dance and also comments that it is a good idea to practice before the big show.
